Black Gold Farms is a fourth generation farm located in Sturgis, Michigan. The name Black Gold was adopted in 1965 when the family entered the registered Angus cattle business. “Black” symbolized both the fertile, truly deep ebony black soil deposited by Ice Age glaciers and the Black Angus hide. The “Gold” represented the golden potato skin and the potential value of the newly named company.
The Sturgis, Michigan location is a state-of-the-art operation that grows potatoes for many of your favorite potato chips.
